Misguided friends who use AOL

 I am so frustrated with several of my friends, who use AOL. Thank God I never fell into the trap when I bought my first PC, about 7 years ago. My main gripe? Whenever I receive an email from any of them, it is ALWAYS an attachment, and I have to click numerous (as many as 8 to 10!!) times to open it. (after it has been scanned twice by my antivirus software, of course). It has come to the point where I delete most of their emails without even attempting to read them. Can anybody tell me why their emails are always sent in attachment form? Is this just an AOL quirk? I keep advising them to dump AOL, but they refuse. Thanks to anyone who can answer this for me.

Yes, it's an AOL quirk. I only see this in AOL emails. Then I have to close a dozen freaking windows after being let down by bears spouting hearts out their asses or some tribute to Jesus looking over Santa Claus visitng a Veteran Soldier who's taking a personality test that he must pass on to everyone in his address book or die.

Whew … glad I got that off my chest.

Don't we all feel better now?

Well it was worth a try.

😆 LOL! AMEN to that! I was beginning to think that I was the only one getting nauseated by all that “friendly touchy-feely love my email buddy” bullcrap! What a waste of time to discover one of those after 15 clicks and empty windows. Now I feel much better. Thank you.

You can’t w/ Yahoo. The only thing you can do would be to consolidate dominas. In other words look through the list and find email addresses that come from the same domain. Many spammers use the same domain and just keep changing the user name. You can take all those addresses and delete them and just put the domain name in the blocked list. Of course this requires searching through the entire list. Was this answer helpful?
