Ken,
Not sure if you meant to do this or not, however, I want to
thank you. We have received an incredible amount of business based on the
press release you put out titled "August 2002: Kentropolis Dumps
[...] for Locally Managed, National-Quality Hosting"
I am very surprised about this considering the
circumstances you left on, however, we have received easily over 200 new
clients directly from this release. Please let us know if there is
ANYTHING you need and I will be very happy to take care of it for you. I
know you are no longer a client, however, I feel compelled to offer you a
free reseller account or hosting account.
I do hope everything is going well for you and wish you and
your family the happiest of holidays.
Thank You

It's so good to hear from
you. I thought you didn't love me anymore. Whether your message was
simple-minded sarcasm, or a ploy to make me take down the news release on
my site, I accept your offer for a free reseller account, just for
laughs. Please set up my nameservers as
NS.[company name]SPANKER.COM
NS2.[company
name]SPANKER.COM
username "lesliefan"
password "whatever"
And if you think I'm
enough of a moron to believe you received any business from my publicity,
then I am certainly dumb enough to take your offer seriously, and
therefore will hold you to your word. Unhappily though, from plenty of
experience I know what your company's word is worth. I look forward to
confirmation of the setup of my new reseller account.

No Ken, I am being VERY
serious, it has helped immensely. I know that was NOT your intentions,
however, it has brought in close to $187,000 in new yearly business. I
know you were 100% out to try to give us a bad name and without question
we have had many people contact us about this and we have had to explain
the situation, however, there has been significantly more positive
responses out of it. Keep in mind a few things, negative publicity many
times leads to positive net gains. Take WHT for example, granted no
company wants to be shed in a negative light on there, however, every time
they are, people visit their web site. You can not tell me when you were
complaining about us that you did not get a lot of traffic to your site. I
have spoken to many customers that use forums such as WHT and they say the
same thing.
Needless to say I can not
setup the account you requested, however, if you honestly need a reseller
account setup, we will offer you one free for a year.
Thank You

Leslie:
You know, not to give you legal advice, but it's bad enough one of your
techs went public about details, incorrect or not, about my personal
account to "explain" why I had a beef with you. I didn't divulge
anything about those issues until I was slandered you your staff, and
held back details of unrelated issues I could have made public. And are
you sure you want to admit you've had to "explain" the circumstances of
MY business to "200" new clients?
Sure, I take it personally
when the owner of a company blatantly lies to me, doesn't stand by his
word over and over again, and then treats me like the village idiot. But
why do YOU have the obsession with this? If someone posted "Kentropolis
screwed me too" online, would it dignify a response? Would it compel me
(without consulting a lawyer first) to go into the details of some
disagreement that the customer didn't bring up details first? Especially
since they were WRONG details?
But really ... are you
suggesting I should put up MORE detail about our past relations, so you
will get MORE business? You may or may not have had a spike in traffic,
unrelated to me, but you're not going to convince me that such nonsense
isn't a just personal problem of yours - you want to get my goat, and
you're entitled to try. I've responded to these emails for my own
reasons, but you're getting PAID to be so focused on me, out of countless
(ex)customers? Should I be flattered? Why couldn't I get this attention
when I was a client? Please drop these unnecessary emails to me Leslie.
It's just going to waste our time and make our lawyers rich.
But as unfinished
business, I'd really LIKE to turn down your offer for a reseller account,
free for 1 year, especially considering you change the SLA and TOS so
often, they'll always be a pretense to charge me or close the account, but
I wont. I will hold you to your word on principle. (Are you sure this is
right with Rob?) Just be aware that when you said free, I take it to mean
there will be no expense on my part (for 1 year) for this service, and you
are not authorized to use any credit card information I may have given you
in the past.
Please forward the details
below to your tech department, and have them contact me if there are any
problems. I just can't believe the domain name wasn't taken when I
registered it earlier today -- I may or may not ever use the account, but
I'll point them to the server when I get the IP from [company name].
Make the nameservers
NS.GEEKSBEARINGGIFTS.COM
NS2.GEEKSBEARINGGIFTS.COM
Username "kentropolis"
Password "agape"
If you are true to your
word, I thank you. If you are not, no response is necessary. Let's part
on those terms. Goodbye.
