KENTROPOLIS
"People Before Technology"™

I hate to admit it, but I collect AOL coasters (disks &
CDs). Racing stripes, safari themes, movie, celebrity, and anime
versions ... it's become a reflection of American culture. There's
even a display for them in our local Post Office, and I even know people
who try to sell them at garage sales and raffles! In fact, if you
search a bit, you can find CD art made out of them, such as
HERE.
The one thing we can hope for is that it will be a PAST part
of American culture, and then I'll cash in on the collectibles.

Reproducible versions of the artwork aren't available here to
avoid copyright infringement, but you get the idea ...

AOL "Proto-Coasters" -- I think people
used to have drives for these ... oh wait! I still do! |
>>>
At least some of them come with a FREE CD or DVD Case!
(Having been conveniently mailed to
my home, I have a ton of these stripped down for some unforeseen future
use.)

Too thin for Altoids, but these tins are cool. I've heard people use
them for all sorts of things.
|
Of Particular Interest ...
I laughed my butt off when I saw this.
I wonder if businesspeople in the know actually would think the cheaper
price would be worth the embarrassment of having an AOL address for a
business. Then again, people put business sites on
Tripod & Geocities ...

I almost freaked at the thought of this one.
Is there some "Eve" on the other side of the country looking at the exact
same disk, wondering if humanity will survive?Okay
... this image brings us to our CONTEST!
